Jennings Celebrates College Day and Mother Mary’s Festival

Jennings International College, Nainamadama held its COLLEGE DAY Celebrations and the Festival of MOTHER MARY on 1st June 2017, with religious activities which included the Holy Eucharist and the Procession of the statue of Mother Mary.

Chairman Mr Melville Samaranayake, with the Board of Directors, participated in the religious activities along with the Principal, Academic & Non Academic staff and the Students.

The procession of the statue of  Mother Mary held with a beautiful pageant participated by  College Band, Scouts, Prefects, Children of the  Pre-School, Primary & Senior Section, Academic and Non-Academic staff, Board of Directors and the Chairman.

Rev. Fr. Denis Miranda who is the Religious Knowledge Teacher in the college, celebrated the Holy Mass. Almost all the students who attended the  Holy Mass brought offerings to be sent to the children affected by the recent floods and landslides in the country.

Accordingly, the College contacted the Police Station in Wennappuwa and handed over all the donations brought by the students to  I.P. Roshan,  O.I.C. Traffic, Wennappuwa Police, at the School premises on  2nd June 2017.

At the end of the procession, Rev. Fr. Denis Miranda blessed the college. Finally, the statue was placed in the college Abode by the Chairman.

On the occasion of the College Day Celebrations,  the Chairman,  Mr Samaranayake declared that the admission of the children to the  Pre-School should be made free of charge with effect from 1st June 2017. Accordingly, the information on the decision taken by the Chairman was circulated among the Parents of the children in the region through advertisements and leaflets.
